That isn’t a bug. Most AI assistants keep a short window of the current conversation and little else. When the window fills or the chat ends, what you said is gone. Some keep a few notes about you on their servers, but those notes belong to them, and they reset when you change model or app.

A partner works differently. He keeps what he learns: how you work, what you settled, what he found when he researched. He keeps it on your computer, so it stays yours when the model changes, and it grows every week instead of starting over.
